    Team Lead

    Job summary

    The team lead is the key person to orchestrate the day to day operation within the ITC office under the orders of the ICT director.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    1. Respond to requests for help and maintain a log of help request;

    2. Install, maintain and repair hardware and software where required;

    3. Arrange, monitor and verify outside repairs when needed;

    4. Setup network user account and login scripts;

    5. Maintain an inventory database of hardware and software;

    6. Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation about the administration of all relevant SSIS IT system;

    7. Monitor the SSIS IT system and proactively act to prevent problems;

    8. Supervise the helpdesk queue tasks for performance and quality of service;

    9. Supervise helpdesk operation by the IT support technicians for workload or any other type of issue;

    10. Perform other clerk duties as assigned;

    11. Order new equipment as directed by the technology manager;

    12. Keep abreast of development in technology having impact on the above duties and the use of technology at SSIS;

    13. Undergo training to improve his skill base;

    14. Suggest training for the IT support technicians;

    15. Work with the technology manager to establish goals and objectives to improve the quality of service provided;

    16. Attend technology department meetings when requested;

    17. Perform other duties when assigned by HOD


    Competency

    Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

    • Technical Knowledge: BA Degree in Computer Science; In-depth knowledge of computer usage and programming

    • Year of experience: 4-5 years directly related experience

    Skills:

    Programmer

    Job summary

    The Programmer must have a good understanding of the components of computer programming, the ability to troubleshoot problems, develop and maintain applications.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

    The responsibilities of the programmer include:

    1. Development and maintenance of custom applications or modules for SSIS, including documentation about their usage and administration.

    2. Users support of developed applications.

    3. Keep abreast of developments in technology having an impact on the above duties and the use of technology at SSIS.

    4. Undergo training to improve his skill base.

    5. Work with the technology manager to establish goals and objectives to improve the quality of service provided.

    6. Attend technology department meetings when requested.

    7. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the ICT Director.

    System Administrator

    Job summary
    The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/ configuration,
    operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This
    individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation
    within the infrastructure.
     
    Essential duties and responsibilities
    1. Deploy and maintain business-critical servers based on service architectural needs,
    using tools to help automate processes and make systems more manageable, available,
    and secure;
    2. Configure, manage and backup the VMWare virtual infrastructure (vSphere, VMWare
    ESXI, and the SAN);
    3. Monitor and audit hardware, operating system, application, and service logs and metrics
    for performance issues using centralized tools;
    4. Learn about and share knowledge of current and emerging technologies to improve
    efficiency of systems administration;
    5. Develop and maintain accurate documentation for operational, installation, deployment
    and configuration procedures;
    6. Monitor and fine-tune network software/hardware and web services to ensure optimum
    systems performance, and highlights potential issues;
    7. Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and
    recommends ways for SSIS to take advantage of new technology.
    8. Prepare, maintain and execute where necessary, the disaster recovery plans for the
    systems managed by IT Services;
    9. Configure, monitor and perform backup operations, ensuring all required file systems
    and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media;
    10. Prepare training material and delivers support training to the ICT team when required;
    11. Collaborate with colleagues to fulfill and improve delivery of IT services;
    12. Participate in projects identified by the ICT Director to support the information technology
    objectives of SSIS;
    13. Prepared to work overtime onsite and be on-call over a 24/7 shift whenever demands
    require.

    System Integrator

    Job summary
    The overall duty of a systems integrator is to link component subsystems and ensure they work together
    as a unit. The Systems Integration Specialist, under general direction, provides technical leadership and
    oversight for deployment and delivery of enterprise-wide client technology projects and integration of third-party
    services. Participates in mentoring, training, and development of other employees.
     
    Essential duties and responsibilities
    1. Provides technical guidance and oversight for server administration. Sets-up, configure servers and develop complex system logic/configuration, and conducts server performance analyses and tuning. Coordinates routine audits of systems and software.

    2. Create and evaluate plans for the implementation of new technology deployments and system integration testing.

    3. Coordinates the evaluation of new technologies. Makes recommendations based on the evaluation of new technologies based on client needs.

    4. Collaborates with the project leader to develop work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases, identifying personnel, and computing equipment requirements.

    5. Oversees the maintenance of system security for protecting and recovering client data. Develops disaster recovery plans for complex systems.

    6. Consult with and assist IT staff, vendors, and manufacturers' representatives in resolving complex procedural, operational, and technical problems.

    7. Training, Professional Development, and other duties assigned.

    Competency
    Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Five years of related experience in enterprise level client technology projects. Experience with both Linux and Windows server administration.

    • Experience with Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

    • Experience with Linux server operating systems

    • Experience with Mac OS and IOS

    • Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting

    • File transfer and network protocols SSH/SFTP/FTP/SCP/FTPS

    • Virtualization experience Hyper-V or VMWare

    • Experience in configuring and maintaining network and server infrastructure

    • Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL techniques including configuration change management.

    Database Administrator

    Job summary

    Database Administrator  is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database and will also be involved in the planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users.

    Essential duties and responsibilities

      1. Administer the Student Information System (PowerSchool)

      2. Provide Student Information System (PowerSchool) customer technical support to users at school sites.

      3. Train users at all levels on how to more effectively use the Student Management System (PowerSchool)

      4. Prepare documentation on the usage of the Student Information System (PowerSchool) for the users’ reference.

      5. Update external databases, (Naviance, OPAC, MAP and WRAP) as needed.

      6. Other duties as assigned by the Technology Director

    • Technical Knowledge: Bachelor degree

    • Year of experience: At least 1 year working experience.

    Support Technician

    Job summary

    The IT Support Technician must have a good understanding of the components of computer hardware and software, the ability to troubleshoot problems, and carry out repairs and replacements as necessary

    The IT support technicians offer support to students and faculty who are experiencing problems with their computers or software. Support can be provided in person, over the phone or online. They address issues ranging from network systems to individual laptop or desktop computers.

    The IT Support Technician are responsible for maintaining SSIS's computer services and equipment. Their duties can include troubleshooting to detect and solve technical problems, installing or updating required hardware and software and recommending computer products or equipment to improve productivity.

     

    Essential duties and responsibilities

      2. Diagnose and repair hardware and software problems.

    • Audio visual equipment.

    • Peripheral devices such as, printers, projectors, WIFI Access points, etc.

    Skills:
